Using the room camera

The camera opens only after you press Open camera and grant permission. Its live video stays on your device. Capturing a still does not upload it. You can retake it or leave. Only choosing Analyze my room sends the selected still photo for analysis. Camera permission and analysis permission do not grant a license to post the photo or enter you into casting.

Checking a room

When live AI analysis is enabled, we resize your photos in your browser and remove the original image metadata. After you agree, we send the resized photos to our server and OpenAI for the room check. Do not include people, addresses, private documents or other information you don’t want analyzed.

The room-check endpoint does not save image files to our photo storage. It keeps a temporary result and image fingerprint so a later submission can be linked to the correct check. The result expires after 30 minutes; expired records are removed during subsequent room checks. The AI request is configured with storage disabled; this does not mean the provider has no operational or abuse-monitoring retention. Rate-limit records are also kept to protect the service.

Submitting to the show

A submission saves the uploaded photos, contact information, location, story and selected permissions in a private casting inbox. Photos are accessible through the owner’s authenticated review area, rather than public image links. Public retention periods and a contact for access or deletion requests still need to be finalized.

Submitting for private review does not automatically authorize us to post your photos. The publication checkbox is optional and starts unchecked. Interest in a future episode is a separate yes/no choice. Saying yes to casting permits casting contact; it is not an appearance agreement and does not grant photo publication rights. If you submit a friend’s room, you must have the photo rights, and publication requires the adult room occupant’s agreement. This preview is for adults aged 18 and over.

Draft publication permission

I grant Intergalactic Enterprises LLC d/b/a Gymnasium a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual license to reproduce, crop, edit, display, publish and distribute the photos I submit across Boy Room and Gymnasium social media accounts and websites, including promotion of the show. I keep ownership of my photos. I understand there is no payment or guarantee of inclusion.

This wording is a working draft, not an approved release. A marked test submission in this private preview does not grant a license, even when the sample checkbox is selected. We retain the selected test choices only so the form can be reviewed.

Your victory selfie

The selfie and branded certificate are created on your device. They are not sent to our server. The site asks for camera access only after you select the camera button, and stops the camera when you take the photo or leave the selfie screen. Sharing uses your device’s share sheet when supported; otherwise you can download the image.

The verdict

A Boy Room verdict is entertainment based on the visible parts of the uploaded room. It is not a health or safety inspection. A photo cannot establish smells, bacteria, an occupant’s character or what is hidden outside the frame. Unclear photos should receive a request for another view.
